This is a HEIDENHAIN Lithium battery for the Memory cache of your HEIDENHAIN iTNC Controller such as HEIDENHAIN iTNC530 or iTNC640 fitted on CNC Machine-tools. This HEIDENHAIN iTNC Lithium battery for Memory cache will save RAM and Datas while the TNC Power supply is off. This HEIDENHAIN ID.Nr 315878-04 Lithium Battery 3V MUST BE replaced when your CNC Machine-tools iTNC Controller show the message REPLACE/EXCHANGE BUFFER BATTERY to prevent any data loss.


This HEIDENHAIN 3V Lithium battery RENATA CR2477N CR2477B is located on the rear side of the HEIDENHAIN MC422D.

If the machine is switched off, the power for the RAM is supplied by the buffer battery. The rated voltage is 3 V. For safeguarding the RAM, an additional capacitor (Gold cap) was integrated onto the PCB of the iTNC. This capacitor stores the RAM content for approx. one day without batteries. If the voltage of the buffer battery falls below 2.6 V, the error message Exchange buffer battery is displayed. If the voltage does not exceed 2.6 V any more, the error message is reactivated after 30 minutes. Exchange the buffer battery within one week! Note The capacitor (Gold cap) is only loaded when the iTNC is switched on.
